New Delhi: “On Today Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10.20 am, Popular Comedian Raju Srivastav passed away at the age of 58 after being on a ventilator for over a month in Delhi ‘All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ hospital, his family said.
On August 10, Comedian Raju Srivastava was doing his routine exercise at his south Delhi gym meanwhile, he experienced a sudden chest pain and collapsed (Cardic Arrest) while working out. Raju suddenly fell down, he was rushed to Admitted in the AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital. He was in an unconscious state. Same day, Raju underwent an angioplasty. Since then, he had been on a ventilator. Raju was also on the treadmill. Today, he died at 10.20 am after 45 days of hospitalisation. Raju’s last rites will be performed in Delhi on Thursday.
Over the past few days, the comedian Raju Srivastava health had witnessed significant fluctuations. On August 25, there were reports being coming that ‘raju is gaining consciousness’ but his brother Dipoo Srivastava told that “The family had no such information from doctors’. Dipoo had also said that ‘The Raju had shown minor improvement and was recovering slowly. Raju’s wife shikha had also given his health update time to time and had asked everyone to ‘pray’ for his fast recovery. Raju’s cousin also told earlier that “Raju was complaining that he ‘felt uneasy’ when he was moved to the hospital.’’ After making millions laugh, comedian passed away.
He was a good mimic since his early days. He featured in the films such as ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Amdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya’ and ‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’, ‘Baazigar’, ‘Bombay to Goa’ (Remake), among others. He was one of the contestants on ‘Bigg Boss Season Three’. He was the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh film development council.
Raju carved a niche for himself in the world of stand-up comedy with his well- timed jokes and comic takes on some very relevant situations in life.
On December 25, 1963, Raju was born in India’s Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur in a middle class family. His father, Ramesh Chandra Srivastava was a poet. In 1993, he married with Shikha and their children are Antara and Ayushman. In 2005, he received recognition after participation in the first season of the stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenger.” He had been working in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s.
