Hazaribagh, Jharkhand – On 19 August 2022, Fraudsters committed a cyber crime through a loan application named “Credit Box” victim is Tanviru Ranja.
Victim said, while using mobile “he got a link where he clicked on it, after that asking for some permission which he allowed his phone number then was immediately credited by one rupee into his bank account . He got scarred and uninstalled the app . After 10 min, Rs. 7000 got credited in his bank. after passing Four to five days he was still thinking where has the money come from? Victim’s had many source of income to he ignored thinking it must have been sent by some of his vendor.
After seven days he received a call to repay Rs. 12,812 for Rs 7,000 loan which was credited to his bank account without his information . Victim said, “sir I have not taken or applied for any loan.” Fraudster said, “download the credit box app and see you have taken loan.” He downloaded and saw the app statement where Rs. 7000 loan were reflecting He thought may be by mistake it happened. By mistake he clicked on the extension option of 5,802. He paid to make free himself. Again after 2 days, a call has come to pay 12,812. Your extension date has been finished. He paid 12, 812 to free himself from this stuff then victim checked every detail then uninstall the app.
Victim’s mother was sick and sister was admitted in hospital for 2 days that’s why he did not noticed, money has been credited of 10,000. He knew this thing when he has received a phone call for to pay 18,302 then he checked his bank amount where the amount was 23,000 not 13,000. He denied to repay loan then fraudster shared victims 906 contact number list and started blackmailing they if he is not paying the loan amount things will be worse and they shared shared a message to his five contacts that “ he has committed a big crime and runaway. He raped a little 16 year old girl. She is in bad condition in hospital and her family is very poor. If you know this disgusting person. Please let me know. Police is also looking for him. Then shared the screenshot to him which got him scared.
One of his neighbor called him to tell this all matter then he said his phone has been hacked and data has been stolen. Everyone knows him that’s why understand this concern. He went to police station and told this matter to police. Police said, “this is the matter of cyber cell go there.” Meanwhile message has come to pay now otherwise photo and video will be viral. He did first and two payment from the phonepe but third time from paytm because paytm has been blocked from phonepe. Victim said to the fraudster, “I did all payment now, no loan is going on.” Fraudster said, “yes, done.” But today again, 10,000 has been credited in his bank but he has not getting any phone call from the fraudster side because fraudster will call every time after seven days.
From 21 august, many such cases have been coming in Jharkhand. Cyber fraudster are committing crime in the name of Loan App. They target people by giving them loan and in refund they are charging high interest and if the person deny to repay loan they start blackmailing them by sharing victims personal photos,video and contacts, so one need to be very careful and be away from these Fraud Loan Apps .
